Hey folks,

So I'm enjoying being on the server, and am starting to get a bit more experienced in DayZ and would like to start collecting some nice gear along with a couple of other guys I'm playing with. I was looking at building a small base to keep our tents safe. But I see that a patch is coming out, and through other peoples use of glitches base building may get removed. So I was just wondering if it's worth the investment of time to do at present? Or would we be better off waiting and seeing how it all plays out?

I would just go for it and build one. I will be doing all I can to preserve the bases once a new dayz patch is released. Whilst this may mean that initially when the new 1.7.7 patch comes out there are no bases or tents I can potentially restore them all once the basebuilding script has updated to work under the new patch.

There is a possibility I may change the rarity of items in the build recipes so much that we need to completely remove all bases after the new patch but I will try and avoid that happening.

If you build your base right, I think you can avoid glitchers to an extent. Your vehicles are probably going to be vulnerable and will be destroyed by them but there are ways to completely protect your tents. Trial and error.

just make sure you don't build your base next to a deer hut or something, wouldn't want someone vaulting out of the deer hut and into your base :D (i really hope i find a base touching a deer hit now :D)
