So I removed the map from the starting loadout, this was only ever in as a temporary measure for the bambis.

Maps are easy to look really especially with all the extra residential loot you can find dotted around our map. But I'm sure some of you will be butthurt over it so we'll leave it up to a player poll if the map stays or goes.

i reckon you should spawn with a compass instead of a map, that way you can still navigate a bit. I don't mind spawning with anything though.

Also, I think that maps should be very rare because of the fact that waypoints are on. waypoints are extremely useful, you dont even need anything else if you have one (except in gunfights)

Start with nothing is a good idea. Everyone will be scared of dying.

we can set loadouts to little/nothing and allow minimal upgrade perks for people who want to donate to the server fund.

I don't want people to have to pay to play with a normal loadout they could get elsewhere though, backpack and even skin upgrades would be cool. Otherwise it seems kind of cheap, I don't want people thinking "oh shit i spawn with nohing wtf, lets check he website WTF I have to pay to have a bandage".

If we spawn with nothing we do it properly nothing for everyone, backpacks for donors, skins\starting items for heroes and bandits based on humanity ranks. I can increase spawn chances for a few things to compensate maybe it depends on he communities thoughts though.

I also like the idea of starting with a compass if maps are going away. I mean I can navigate without one, but it makes the game less tedious.

Love the idea of spawning with absolutely nothing.

compass and map in starting gear can make life easier for script kiddies, compass is my favorite tool to loot i'd never hand them out anyway sometimes it can take you ages to find one but that's what gives them their value.

It's easier to navigate with a map than a compass, but it's easier to fight with a compass than a map...

If you think about it in our modern world, there is really nothing usefull to kill zombies (exept the overly abused amount of guns in the US) in our house holds.

Starting with nothing is decent, considering that you will spawn close to a town with loot inside, food, etc...

In addition every items on the server would come from spawned loot. Making higher spawn location such as Stary, and Berezino much more valuable to hold. And would potentially fire the heat up a bit.

It would also give a purpose to having a camp to store previous weaponry and supplies

No bandages is gonna make the coast a bloodbath and I can live with that!

i like zero loadout. Keeps the game clean and dangerous. especially since that first zombie hit is almost always a bleeding one.

as for compass navigation isnt difficult based off sun and cloud movement. Stuff like that is bambies

I think spawn with just a bandage. Nothing else.

I still really want to, worried that the vast majority of server users don't read the forums or vote on polls like this though.

I wouldn't want to make a change that hurts server population (or I would have disabled crosshairs, deathmessages, sidechat and 3rd person already). Maybe if more people are share their thoughts on it I will try it though....

will we be able to run multiple servers on the new host? if thats the case, we can have a "hardcore" server with the ultimate settings like you suggested above.

Yup should have no problems with 2 instances even at high player counts :)

I might still try the starting loadout changes on the main server and see how much QQ'ing goes on in sidechat....

I think starting without a bag and painkillers could be intense (especially considering how many bags spawn in supermarkets and apartments), but don't get rid of the bandage.

Almost every first hit makes me bleed and I've run a few kilometres just to be put down by some slap happy zed, I'd be pretty vexed!

One thing you could do is have a start that is for example, just a bandage, and have the rest of your start gear dependent on your humanity. I know there's already rewards, but they are at humanity values that take a long time to attain and maybe starting with painkillers + bonus bandage at 5k humanity, and maybe a machete at -5K would be interesting

When I died today, I suddenly spawned with backpack, bandage and painkiller, moiuntain dew and even a RABBIT STEAK. I found this way too OP. Spawning with backpack makes it easier to get out spawning places. Just loot loads of food/drinks and a gun - wich tbh takes about 5 mins max, then move north. Idunno, I feel the last spawning loot was good. Just a single bandage - makes it hardcore, and I like it to be hardcore!

This is a fail on my part, I edited the wrong servers starting loadout when preparing for tonights survivor games  Will be back to just a flashlight and bandage after the next restart.
