So we've been having fun lately playing normal ArmA, some with a few mods and mainly premade missions. Well I'm a mission maker and scripter, and many of you could be as well. The main thing I'm wondering is what style missions do you guys want to play? I'm going to have some footage up soon of some of the messing about in normal ArmA missions with some of the [ARNIE] squad completing Escape from Chernarus, and a bunch of us on the event server playing as terrorists against the infidels in a Martyrs mission (need to compress them even further since my upload rate is 1.5 mb/s and both are 5-6 gb each in 1080p). Anyways I'm a mission maker and scripter for ArmA. My main accomplishment is scripts for dynamic positions of units/groups and objectives along with custom actions for missions that never play the same twice. Unfortunately I like using maps and units from the paid DLC, so users can either buy it or DL the free lite versions. I'm currently working on a sandbox style mission with multiple objectives that can be accomplished whenever besides a few which unlock new objectives, but what do you guys want? Quick missions, max an hour or a couple hours, or persistent that can last a whole day and not be done? Oh yeah and I'm using a user island. Would you guys like a tutorial vid on how to use Play withSIX which makes mods and addons easy? I have some editing guides in my lil arnie pack and such if you want to take a gander http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?duzlls1tzc3x52i along with tactical stuff as well. http://www.mediafire.com/view/?2yi4cngs32k9e43 for intro to ArmA 2 editor and basic scripting. And one image I forgot to include in pack for PSO scopes I was just so happy to see some of you guys getting into normal ArmA, I had to bring this up! |

I like playing missions in the forests mostly, with some long and hilly environments. I have nothing against long missions that can last days if the progress is accurately saved. I'd like to see a mission where you can get better gear by completing side objectives. Like, start with normal gear like some AK's, and by completing a certain sidemission you get access to a cache with Dragunov's and stuff. Both experienced and newer players can appreciate this, since the former will just go in without extra guns if they like the challenge, and the newer ones get to play around. |

Heh the only friendly kill due to me from last play. You'll see why once it's uploaded. The great thing of even warring factions of independent players taking part in these missions is it teaches proper tactics and teamplay. If you guys get the DLC lite packs for maps, plenty can be done woodland wise. |

I'm down for anything ARMA mission wise, I enjoy a quick blast on something dynamic just as much as I enjoy sitting down for several hours trying to take out an objective in a coordinated and organised fashion. Escape from Chernarus has definitely been the mission that has impressed me most so far, probably because it feels like it has a lot more replay value than non dynamic missions. I know there's plenty of other missions we have still yet to try with dynamic objectives, I would also love to see a version of Escape from Chernarus for more than 8 players. I still love the well made coop missions, especially if there's a decent amount of scripted events going on halo jumps, enemy flares explosions etc. Let me know any missions you want to try out on the dedicated box deadly I'd be happy to host more games for everyone |

Yea I'm in the middle of working on a couple missions and some scripts atm, but once I have some more time to look around at missions I'll come up with a list of good ones. Having a couple issues getting units to spawn in buildings though, that and for some reason they aren't attacking me even though they should. |

i had an idea that we could set up a basic "common mod list" for when we do coop missions on the events server, vanilla arma is fun but there are loads of mods that will make it 10x more fun. also, im not sure on this one but we need to experiment with the headless client (makes ai 10x better by offloading all ai computation to a seperate thread) its still a bit buggy but it brilliant. heres a list of mods i've put together that i deem "essential" if we do decide to run some mods. A.C.E (http://www.ace-mod.net/) ShackTac Fireteam HUD (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9936) ShackTac Movement (https://dev-heaven.net/attachments/down ... ment_v1.7z) ShackTac Littlebird enhancement (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=16497 and heres some more mods that aren't really essential but just visual/small stuff Blastcore FX (http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=12975) will update this list as i discover more mods. also, i figure it will be a hassle that everyone has to download all these mods seperately, so maybe we could compress all the "essential" mods to a .rar file and host that somewhere? |

I'm running the headless server client already but I have been using a single core for the ARMA 2 server I'll try some thread optimisation next time we play don't want to impact the dayZ server too heavily though. ACE and the little bird mod I am going to get on the server once I'm done watching the F1, I'll definitely put a modpack together soon too. Blastcore, jtd, sthud, stmovement, smk_anims_lite, smk anims, jsrs all enabled right now. |

Current mods are here minus jsrs - http://zerosurvival.co.uk/zsarma2mods.rar -mod=@CBA_CO;@Blastcore_Visuals;@JTD;@smk_anims_lite;@sthud;@stmovement should work as a launch parameter I think |

Can't actually remember which ones I self signed now, I think I had to sign smk_anims_lite maybe blastcore too. |

You guys should use ACE and ACRE mods together! It's amazing fun doing coop missions using realistic radios!! I usually play with an ACE and ACRE mod clan called The Wrecking Crew and it is amazing fun!!! |
