This is the new server IP address, we are now hosted on a fully dedicated server rather than a VPS. Thank you to all the guys who donated to make it possible to order. I had hoped to be able to get hosting with a beefier CPU and 2 SSD drives on raid but the prices were too steep for us currently. Performance should still be much better than the previous host and I will continue to optimize things over this week.

I am trialing some new TCP settings currently, if there are some hiccups tonight I will have them smoothed out soon it's hard to test things without load from players actually in the server. Early reports last night with 20 players online were that desync is much improved in vehicles.

Here's the new specs for anyone interested

i7-2600 processor
16 GB DDR 3 RAM
2 x 3 TB SATA 6 Gb/s

The pings may be very slightly higher for some of you but performance should more than make up for that. Latency is not really that important in ARMA and especially DayZ any way. Server FPS hasn't dropped more than 2 fps lower than the max of 50 yet, on the old server we had drops down to less than 10 fps at times

This is still relatively low cost (in DayZ terms) hosting - less than £100 per month. For comparison bmrf run their servers from this - http://puu.sh/2Zibb.png http://puu.sh/2Ziqr.png DayZ is a bitch to host.

I would not have been able to afford to even host the hive on our current host if not for community donations. Up until last month this server has been entirely funded by me, so a massive thanks to all who have helped the last month or so.

All good so far, de-sync has been massively reduced! Honestly the best server I've played on since I've started Dayz!

So the one with the password is the old server then? I thought that was the new one lol. That explains why what I thought was the new server was already in my favorites on DayZ Commander while the "old" one was not.

played shortly last night, was in chat with our web site hosting provider trying to resolve an issue with the site for over an hour!!!

but for the 20-30 minutes of play time i got in last night, its silky smooth!! no joke, a 10-20 fps boost.

now lets fill this bitch up and slaughter some new people!!!
