This amazing little addon will hide the chat from your screen, you will still be able to type and see what your typing, but you will not see your own text or the text of others from any channel.

This is an optional download for those who think side chat breaks the realism of the game. I am not a fan of sidechat myself sometimes it's great but I've always preferred the game as it was originally intended.

Download the addon attached to this post and extract to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

Add the following launch parameters (if you don't use any mods)



or if you use mods like the excellent stmovement append it to list like so

ah, so this is why i've been feeling ignored :p This is a cool addon for people that, like you said, want to play the game as it's intended.

I like the social aspect though. The only games I really play on the regular are dayz/arma, minecraft, and occasionally Planetside 2. In all 3 of these games my favorite thing about them is the socialization. However, i'm slowly realizing how different dayz is when it comes to socializing with people haha.

I will probably be running the mod whenever I am playing with SNM! (rather than in game to spectate stuff) I can always be reached via Teamspeak or a PM on the forums though.

I like sidechat sometimes if the server is quiet etc, sidechat is also a valuable source of intel people give away locations etc and you see death messages I had it off last night though and loved it. You need someone on your squad with the chat on though really just in case you miss some useful intel so I'm sure they'll tell me if someone is yelling for me.

It would be cool if the interface was customizable. For instance, if you could change the opacity of sidechat text to make it more transparent, so that way its not "Hey look at me im bright freakin blue in yo face".

Is there a way to just mute certain people so as well as not being able to hear them you can't see their messages? May be beneficial to my squad. :p
